ROAD FROM GLASGOW

 

When travelling from Glasgow / Glasgow International Airport there are two ways you can go:

 

The first option is to drive down the coast through Greenock. From Glasgow, head west on the M8 towards Greenock, and then from Greenock head south on the A78 towards Largs. You will pass through Wemyss Bay and Skelmorlie before arriving in Largs. Drive through the town along Greenock Road, Main Street and Irvine Road. Just before you leave the south side of the town, the hotel will appear on your right at the Haylie Brae traffic lights. 

 

The second option is to head west on the M8, and shortly after the airport turn off, you take the A737 towards Irvine onto the dual carriageway. Pass by Johnstone, Kilbarchan and Howwood, then turn right onto the A760 at the small roundabout, heading into Lochwinnoch. Continue on into Kilbirnie and then follow the signs for Largs. This route is slightly quicker, and brings you in at the traffic lights at the bottom of the Haylie Brae road which is at the south end of Largs. Turn right onto Irvine Road and immediately turn left into our car park.

 

 

ROAD FROM PRESTWICK AIRPORT / IRVINE

 

Driving from Prestwick Airport, you head north on the A78 and follow signs for Greenock and Largs. You will pass the exits for Troon and Irvine, Stevenson, Saltcoats and Ardrossan. Follow the coast road through Seamill, West Kilbride and Fairlie to arrive in the south end of Largs where you will see the Marina and Pencil. Continue along Irvine Road towards the town centre and, having just passed Largs Golf Club, you will find us on the left immediately after the traffic lights.

 

Car hire can be made with Budget, Hertz and National.

RAIL

An hourly service operates from Glasgow Central to Largs. Journey time is about one hour. Details from Scotrail, GNER or Virgin.

AIR

Glasgow International Airport is about 25 miles away and can be reached by train and bus. Services are provided by Easyjet, British Airways and Flybmi. Glasgow Prestwick Airport is also about 25 miles distant and can also be reached by train and bus. Services are provided by  Ryanair.

​

 

FERRY

The ferry service from Northern Ireland docks at Troon about 25 miles distant. Services are provided by Seacat and P&O.

COACH
